The Hong Kong Anti-Doping Committee (HKADC) operating under the auspices of the Sports Federation & Olympic Committee of Hong Kong, China, (SF&OC) organized an anti-doping seminar on 14 June 2014 with the support of the Hong Kong Coaching Committee (HKCC). Since the newly revised 2015 World Anti-Doping Code will come into effect next year, SF&OC, as a signatory to the Code, has the responsibility to implement and enforce the anti-doping procedures and fulfill all the obligations under the Code and the International Standards. The seminar aimed at getting the local sport community better prepared for the new Code.
SF&OC was honored to invite a number of overseas and local anti-doping experts to deliver lectures for the seminar. The seminar aimed at enabling athletes, coaches and support personnel to understand the new Code better and therefore facilitating a smooth implementation of the new Code next year. During the Opening Ceremony, Mr. PANG Chung, SBS, Hon. Secretary General of SF&OC said “To get the local sport community better prepared for the new Code, today’s seminar will mainly focus on the rationale and highlights of the new Code. This is only part of our effort in preparing for the implementation of the Code. The Federation will continue to support similar programmes in order to ensure a full compliance with the new Code for our anti-doping programme in Hong Kong.” There was a full house attendance of 300 athletes, coaches and support personnel from different national sports associations.
