The Hong Kong Department of Health has announced that it will regulate 1,3-Dimethylamylamine (DMAA) (or Methylhexaneamine) as pharmaceutical product starting from 1 April 2013. So far, no product containing DMAA has been registered in Hong Kong. This means selling and distributing any unregistered DMAA containing products is liable to prosecution. Again, HKADC is warning athletes to stop buying and using any DMAA containing products, such as “Jack3d’ (a supplement commonly used by athletes). DMAA is classified as stimulants on the WADA Prohibited List and it is prohibited in-competition.
